I updated my ATI drivers to 4.11, and everything worked fine (well, except for the pixelization, which went away per your instructions). I had the same issue when I first installed the game (showed only light sources, screen was mostly pitch black). I had been using the Corolla up till this point (the car is a good car, and it also looks good, both in stock form and in upgraded form *cough*), but I then got the RSX (which, surprisingly, I found to be worse with the same level upgrades), thinking that might trigger advancement, but no dice. Do I have to take all the cars they give me to take? What should I do to advance?

I've done that, but I havn't got anything new to de (?). Well, I've gotten up to the part in the game where you beat the second series of League races. And, I now agree, it looks about the same as NFSU1. I'm running at 1280x1024 and everything runs pretty and smooth (chugs when there is a lot of smoke, though). The game is 10x more fun than it's predecessor. I just have a single problem that I posted in another thread, I hope someone would find the answer for it. There are also other graphics effects that I don't remember ATM. The motion blur has been decreased, and it's almost only noticable when using Nitrous, which is good IMO because UND 1 had too much motion blur that I wasn't able to see the street. When I saw screenshots of the game before buying it I thought it looked like UND 1, but after playing the game and having a first hand experience I say it's looks DEFINATELY better, they added many effects such as Depth of Field, and Blight and AutoContrast settings that add so much realism to the game, the crowds look realistic and cards lights reflect on them. it's a good racer.Ĭlick to expand.I had the exact same problem with my card the first time I played the game, but after increasing the details AND restarting, the textures became smooth and now I have no complaint about graphics. if it's bearable, try not to let that ruin the gameplay experience. I think "rendering so many things at once" has a lot to do with the lower res textures.

Graphics-wise, I didn't have this ATI 9800 Pro when NFSU1 was around so I really can't judge fairly. I think the flow is good and the gameplay is better than the original. I just spent the last 15 minutes doing the same drag race over and over because it's so damn tough (fun/challenging) now. and I've only got the G35 393hp right now and there are cars that can do way better. I'm in the middle of stage 3 (or 4?) and it's getting increasingly harder. The other noticeable difference is the opponents don't "cheat". hell it takes almost 3 real minutes to get from one end of the city to the other. The turns aren't as tight and impossible - the "city" is so broad that it allows for a lot of free reign and wider turns. Click to expand. The fun factor has definitely increased from NFSU1.
